Discrimination Prohibited
No person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.
Sequoia District Nondiscrimination Policy
The Board of Trustees of the Sequoia Union High School District is opposed to segregation in the public schools in any form, be it racial, socio-economic, political, religious, or based on sex, and will take such practical steps as appear feasible to provide all students with a broad exposure to all facets of a democratic society during their period of school attendance and to ensure equal educational opportunity according to the needs of individual students.
It shall be the policy of the Board of Trustees not to discriminate on the basis of race, creed or sex in the admission of students to school programs, in its educational programs or activities, or in the recruitment and employment or personnel.All persons--- students, staff members, vendors, and others, regardless of race, creed, or sex, shall be given equal and fair treatment in all aspects of the district’s affairs.
