The Technology Department is here to help close the digital divide, including finding innovative ways to keep our students and families connected to the internet.SUHSD has partnered with Comcast Essentials to provide free Internet to qualifying families. San Mateo County Digital Equity Portal has opened up many WiFi hubs throughout the county to provide WiFi access to member of the community. Application Process
Sequoia Union High School District has partnered with Comcast to provide eligible families with free at-home internet. After the application below has been submitted, SUHSD will provide qualifying families with a unique promo code to sign up for FREE home internet through Comcast's Internet Essentials Program. Please complete the form by clicking the button or link below to apply for this program.

- Families will receive a promo code to use with Comcast Essentials Application
What is Comcast Essentials?
Comcast Internet Essentials is a program for families and other low-income households who currently do not subscribe to the internet at home. Since 2011, more than 8 million low-income Americans have been connected to the Internet at home through the Internet Essentials program, 90 percent of whom were not connected to the Internet at home until they signed up through Internet Essentials.
Who is Eligible?
Families interested in signing up for the program will be provided a code by SUHSD. However, Comcast will determine eligibility. Families may qualify if they:
- Are eligible for public assistance programs such as the National School Lunch Program, Housing Assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, SSI, and others.
- Live in an area where Comcast Internet Service is available.
- Are not an existing Xfinity Internet customer and have not subscribed to Comcast Internet within the last 90 days.

San Mateo County Digital Equity Portal (Public WiFi)
In 2014, the County of San Mateo launched its SMC Public WiFi program to help build out this infrastructure and provide these modern on ramps to the resources available online. In addition to servicing unserved and underserved communities, SMC Public WiFi supports educational opportunities for students, spurs local economic development, and provides greater access to County services. We invite you to learn more about the program and provide us with feedback.
